Canada Post has announced rate increases and service improvements to two of their shipping services to the U.S. - Xpresspost™ – USA and Expedited Parcel™ – USA. The changes will come into effect August 23, 2010.

The service enhancements will include, among other things, greater delivery speed, improved on-time delivery performance, and better tracking.

While prices will rise, on average, 20 per centfor Xpresspost – USA and Expedited Parcel – USA services, the rate increase will take place in 2 phases:

Please make sure your shipping costs reflect the new Canada Post rates, effective August 23, 2010. We will update the rates in the shipping calculator and eBay/PayPal online shipping tool effective August 23, 2010.

When printing shipping labels online via eBay/PayPal, eBay sellers will continue to receive the following Xpresspost – USA and Expedited Parcel – USA discounts off Canada Post’s retail prices:

Note that there are no service or rate changes to Light Packet™ – USA, Small Packet™ - USA Air or Small Packet™ - USA Surface, which remain the no-frills, lower-cost alternative for lightweight, low-value items.
